An anniversary is marked by The Register, that of the NASA Viking missions to Mars, the first of which landed on July 20, 1976.
And since I can just about remember my parents watching The Martian Chronicles on TV, which featured the Viking 1 lander just over the horizon from a Martian settlement, this makes me feel old.
