Masergy launches SD-WAN solution

Masergy has launched a new managed SD-WAN solution. This solution will enhance their hybrid WAN capability. It will reach General Availability by Q4 2016, and to aid marketing, they have intuitively named the service Managed SD-WAN.

The solution uses Masergy’s Virtual f(n) platform delivering the NFV ability to end nodes. The press release from Masergy doesn’t state what supplier they are working with. However, the wording in the press release around the features has strong resemblance to the descriptions of Silver Peak features. This includes the Dynamic Path Control that is a highlight of Silver Peak’s webpage.

“Today’s dynamic information technology environment requires enterprises to be more agile as they expand operations, introduce new applications and migrate to public clouds—all while continuously optimizing costs. These factors are driving the need for more intelligent use of broadband Internet connectivity in global hybrid network architectures.” – Tim Naramore, CTO, Masergy.
