An update of Wireshark to 2.2.10 has been added to the repository. This is the maintenance release of Wireshark 2.2.
This is the last version of 2.2 that I’ll maintain in the repository. Looking at the logs at what was downloaded from the repository, it appears most of you have made the switch to 2.4. I’ve also provided Wireshark 2.6.5 as well.
If you need to build a version of 2.2, then read the Building a Wireshark for CentOS 7 post for instructions to complete the task yourself.
Getting at it is a bit more involved than previously. If you want to use it, add the repository following the instructions in Wireshark on CentOS7 (TL;DR version). The repository will automatically update to the latest version from the 2.6 stream.
Run yum update
to get the latest repository information.
Since version 2.4.0 uses only the Qt version of the user interface, remove your wireshark-gtk package with yum remove wireshark-gtk
. Add the Qt version, yum install wireshark-qt
. Now yum update
to the latest version
Then downgrade using yum downgrade wireshark-qt wireshark
. You’ll need to do this a couple of times, first to get to version 2.4.1, then to version 2.4.0, and then a final yum downgrade wireshark-qt wireshark
takes you to version 2.2.10.
